Clark County, in cooperation with the state Department of Natural Resources, will restrict outdoor burning effective July 15. All land clearing and residential burning will be restricted until further notice, according to a county press release.

The burning restrictions do not cover federally managed lands. The ban is expected to last through Sept. 30, but may be extended in extreme fire hazard conditions.

Recreational campfires on forestlands will be allowed only if built in approved fire pits in designated campgrounds. On private lands, recreational fires will be permitted in metal-, stone- or masonry-lined firepits. The size may not exceed 3 feet in diameter by 2 feet in height. Fires must be at least 25 feet from any structure or other combustible material.
