• Matthew Lee, who most recently worked at a local certified public accounting firm, has joined the accounting firm Opsahl, Dawson & Company. He will manage the Vancouver branch office.

• Dr. Sally Segel, a specialist in ultrasound and high-risk pregnancy, has joined the Vancouver Clinic. Segel and her team will work in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the 700 N.E. 87th Ave., and 2525 N.E. 139th St., in Vancouver.

• Bill Beatty has been named securities administrator by the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions. Beatty replaces Mike Stevenson, who retired earlier this year. Beatty has been with the securities division since 1986. He most recently served as program manager and general counsel.

• Keith Upkes has earned executive coaching certification from Gazelles International, a worldwide executive education and coaching firm for leaders of mid-sized firms. Upkes is president of The Upkes Group, which he founded in 2003.

• The Building Industry Association of Clark County has announced the addition of three new staff members. Steve Madsen will oversee the 800-member association’s Builder Developer Council as government affairs director. Liz Pike will be political affairs director for the association, including its Build the Vote program and fundraising programs. Garrett Delano will be the coordinator for membership programs and services.

• The Vancouver Food Cooperative hired Kendra Pearce as project coordinator of its new online store, which will open Sept. 1. Pearce is a graduate of Washington State University. The Vancouver Food Cooperative was chartered in 2006.

• Lisa Schauer has been named partner with MacKay & Sposito Inc., a civil engineering, land and construction surveying firm based in Vancouver. Schauer is a member of the company’s business development and marketing team. She has worked for the firm since 2000.

• Wild West Coffee opened July 1 at 4400 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. Rami Hejazi is the owner, and Abraham Dakar is the store manager. The coffee shop is open 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
