CHICAGO (AP) — The Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks have hired Florida Panthers assistant Mike Kitchen, reuniting him with head coach Joel Quenneville.

The 54-year-old Kitchen was with the Panthers for the last three seasons.

Kitchen was an assistant for the Blues when Quenneville was the team’s head coach from 1998 to 2003. The pair also were teammates on the Colorado Rockies and New Jersey Devils from 1979 to 1983.

The Blackhawks also announced Monday that assistant coach Mike Haviland has been re-signed.
