NEW YORK (AP) — Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle, who helped the U.S. reach the second round of the World Cup, were selected to the MLS All-Star game on Tuesday.

The forwards were among four members of the Los Angeles Galaxy chosen for the match. Goalie Donovan Ricketts and defender Omar Gonzalez were also selected. It will be Donovan’s 10th appearance.

Defending champion Real Salt Lake had three players picked: defender Jamison Olave and midfielders Javier Morales and Kyle Beckerman.

The All-Stars will play the 2009 English Premier League champions Manchester United on July 28 in Houston.

The MLS All-Stars were chosen in balloting by fans, players, media and coaches and general managers.
