NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Boeing is building a plant to make interiors for its new 787 jetliner across town from its new assembly plant in South Carolina.

The company said Thursday the interior plant will be built in North Charleston, about 10 miles from where the assembly plant is going up. The new plant will mean another 150 jobs for the area.

The jetliner assembly line being built in North Charleston near the Charleston International Airport and is expected to open next July. Boeing announced in May that it was building the plant.

Boeing picked South Carolina for a second site to build its latest jetliner, expanding from its longtime Washington manufacturing base to take advantage of incentives and a nonunion work force.
