PALERMO, Italy (AP) — Second-seeded Aravane Rezai of France won her seventh straight match Thursday, beating Mariano Duque Marino of Colombia 7-6 (3), 6-3 in the Palermo Open second round.

Rezai solidified her place in the top 20 when she won the Bastad title last weekend, her second of the year and fourth of her career.

She’s set to meet wild card Romina Oprandi of Italy, who reached her first quarterfinal since 2006 by defeating Masa Zec Peskiric of Slovenia 6-4, 7-5.

Third-seeded Sara Errani of Italy beat qualifier Mirjana Lucic of Croatia 6-0, 7-6 (4), and fifth-seeded Kaia Kanepi of Estonia comfortably beat Ioana Raluca Olaru of Romania 6-1, 6-2.
