VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A jury in Olympia has awarded $545,000 to former Clark College women’s basketball coach Trev Kiser who sued the school for wrongful termination.

The Columbian reports the Vancouver college is deciding whether to appeal Thursday’s verdict.

Kiser coached at the college from 1997 to 2002. He says he was fired for raising questions about compliance with the federal gender equality law known as Title IX.

The college said he was fired for misconduct involving expenses.
