Campaign trail: Ring doorbells, candidate gathering

Ring doorbells: Volunteers who would like to go door-to-door to campaign for Craig Riley, a Republican legislative candidate for the 49th District, Position 2, should meet at 10 a.m. July 24 at the GOP headquarters, 7736 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave. Call campaign headquarters at 360-258-0236 to sign up and enjoy pizza afterward.

Candidate gathering: Three incumbent Democratic state legislators and a candidate will attend a gathering from 5 to 6:30 p.m. July 20 at 703 East Reserve St. in Vancouver. Call 360-903-5115 to reserve a spot. Reps. Jim Jacks, 49th District, Position 1; Jim Moeller, 49th District, Position 2; and Tim Probst, 17th District, Position 2; and Monica Stonier, a candidate for the 17th District, Position 2 seat, will attend the event. The event will be co-hosted by House Speaker Frank Chopp, D-Seattle, attorney Steve Horenstein, state Treasurer Jim McIntire; retired state Rep. Val Ogden, former Vancouver Mayor Royce Pollard and Sen. Craig Pridemore, D-Vancouver.
