CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Kevin Davies scored and set up another goal to give Premier League club Bolton Wanderers a 2-0 win over the Charleston Battery on Saturday night.

Bolton captain Davies scored in the 29th minute after Matt Taylor grabbed a loose ball at midfield and got it to Martin Petrov, who ran down the left flank and crossed for Davies.

After a turnover at midfield by the Battery, Bolton midfielder Matt Taylor picked up the loose ball and slid it to Martin Petrov making a strong run left flank. Petrov took the ball to the corner and made a beautiful cross to a wide-open Davies, who easily volleyed it past Charleston keeper Keith Wiggans for the score.

The Battery play in the USL Second Division, the third professional tier in the United States.
