SEATTLE (AP) — Families have identified the two men killed in Saturday’s shootout at Lake Sammamish Park in Issaquah, with relatives of one of the men saying he was trying to break up the fight that led to the shots being fired.

KOMO News reports that family identified Yang Keopraseurt (KEE’-huh-pra-SIR’) as the 33-year-old man from Kent who died in the shooting. The Seattle Times identified the second man as Justin Cunningham, a 30-year-old from south Seattle.

Keopraseurt’s stepsister, Sakorn Keopanya (KEE’-OH’-pah-nah), says her stepbrother was trying to break up the fight when he was caught in the cross fire.

King County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Urquhart say a heated altercation led to people in two groups to pull out guns. Police say members of the group may have had gang affiliations, but investigators still don’t know if that played a role in the violence.
