MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau will likely miss at least another week’s worth of games while he recovers from a concussion.
Manager Ron Gardenhire said Monday that Morneau will see a specialist Tuesday. The All-Star first baseman is on the disabled list and hasn’t played since taking a knee to the head on July 7.
Morneau has been told to stay home and rest. Gardenhire said he’s been waking up without symptoms in the morning, but not feeling as well as the afternoon goes on. The manager said he doubted Morneau would be cleared in time to travel with the team to Baltimore for a four-game series that begins Thursday.
