Boating safety classes on Saturday

A pair of boating safety classes will be offered on Saturday in Clark County.

Offer by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxilliary, the classes will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wholesale Sports, 11505 N.E. Fourth Plain Road, and the Port of Camas-Washougal, 24 S. A St., Washougal.

The cost is $10.

Workers needed to fix Big Slide hiking trail

CARSON — Volunteers are needed by the Washington Trails Association to work Sunday on Big Slide Trail in Trapper Creek Wilderness of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

Tools and instruction are provided and no experience is necessary.

Workers also are needed July 30-Aug. 2 for a four-day backpacking expedition to restore a section of Loowit trail No. 216 on Mount St. Helens.

Tiger muskie tourney slated this weekend

MOSSYROCK — Registration is open Friday at Mossyrock Community Center for the Mayfield Lake Tiger Muskie Tournament Saturday and Sunday.

The cost is $50 per two-person team. Eighty percent of the fees will be paid as prize money. There also is a $300 prize for the first team to catch a 50-inch or larger fish.

The tournament is open to all anglers. It will operate on the weekend out of the Mayfield Lake boat ramp on Beach Street off of U.S. Highway 12, three miles west of Mossyrock.

Deadline Friday for Washington hunting raffles

Sportsmen in Washington have until Friday to buy raffle tickets for special big-game hunts this fall including five multi-species hunting opportunities.

Raffle hunts are available for blacktail, mule and whitetail deer; elk in Western Washington, elk in Eastern Washington, bighorn sheep, moose and mountain goat.

Multi-species hunts include:

• A three-deer raffle to harvest a blacktail, a mule and a whitetail deer.

• A northeast Washington raffle allowing harvest of three out of the following six species: whitetail deer, bull elk, moose, cougar, black bear and turkey.

• A south-central big-game raffle allowing harvest of a bull elk, buck deer and bighorn sheep.

• A southeast raffle allowing harvest of four out of the following five species: whitetail deer, mule deer, bull elk, cougar and black bear.

• A north-central big-game raffle allowing harvest of three of the following five species: whitetail deer, mule deer, bull elk, cougar, and black bear.

Tickets can be bought at retail license vendors, online at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov, or by calling 1-866-246-9453.

Tickets cost $5.90 for deer, elk, moose and mountain goat hunts and $11.90 for bighorn sheep hunts. Tickets for three-species hunts are $16.70 and $22.10 for four-species hunts.

One winner for each hunt will be selected by the computer during the final week in July. Winners will be notified by mid-August.
