WARM SPRINGS, Ore. (AP) — A man suspected of firing at police during a chase on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation has been hospitalized following a shootout with members of the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force.

Task Force spokesman Cory Cunningham says 31-year-old Aldo Antunez opened fire Thursday afternoon after officers tried to serve an arrest warrant. Members of the task force returned fire, and the wounded man emerged from a house.

No law enforcement officers were injured.

Cunningham says Antunez was reported in stable condition.

Antunez had been wanted since May 20, when he and Waylon Weaselhead are accused of firing shots while fleeing from Madras and Warm Springs police.

Weaselhead was arrested last month.

Cunningham says Antunez was wanted for attempted murder, and more charges will likely be filed after Thursday’s exchange of gunfire.
