BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) — A small bus carrying 21 children from a Boys & Girls Club veered off a Bellevue, Wash., street and hit a tree Friday evening.

Bellevue Fire Department spokesman Lt. Eric Keenan says the children and the driver were taken to nearby Overlake Hospital Medical Center as a precaution, but there apparently were no life-threatening injuries. He says the children were ages 10-14.

Overlake spokeswoman Karen Johnson says only one person was admitted to the hospital. She did not have details on that person’s condition.

Keenan says the driver apparently was pulling out of a parking lot when the bus collided with another vehicle, then hit the tree. The other driver was uninjured.

The crash is under investigation.
