Camas Days celebration brings together activities for the young, old and everyone in between. The downtown Camas event features vendors, a wine and microbrew street, a children’s area, food court and a grand parade with floats, walking groups and automobiles.

Bathtub races begin after the Camas Days Parade today. The bathtub races will take place in front of the Camas Public Library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas, and City Hall.

Camas Days is one of several weekend entertainment options in Clark County and Portland. Others include a train robbery ride from Chelatchie Prairie Railroad and the Oregon Brewers Festival in Portland.
Wild West drama on the railroad
Costumed re-enactors portraying bandits will attempt to rob the passengers aboard the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad this weekend. It’s up to the marshal to save the day. In addition to the mock robbery, the train passes through a 330-foot tunnel and goes past Moulton Falls and through forests of North Clark County.

Self-portraits at art exhibit
Artists used a variety of media to create self-portraits for the latest exhibit at the Sixth Street Gallery. Media on display include photography, paintings, drawings, sculpture and cardboard. The exhibit, featuring a mix of literal and metaphorical self-portraits, runs through Aug. 1. Visitors can draw or collage their own self-portraits at an in-gallery work station. These portraits will be displayed in a slide show at the gallery throughout July.

Breweries converge for festival
The Oregon Brewers Festival, happening this weekend in Portland, gives visitors the chance to sample and learn about a variety of beer styles from across the country. More than 80 breweries will offer handcrafted brews. The event also offers live music, beer-related vendors, beer memorabilia displays, home-brewing demonstrations and food booths. A root beer garden will offer free handcrafted root beer for minors and designated drivers.
When: Noon to 9 p.m. today and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Where: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, along Naito Parkway between Southwest Harrison and Northwest Glisan streets in Portland. The festival’s main entrance is at Southwest Oak Street and Naito Parkway.
Admission: Free; in order to consume beer, visitors must purchase a taster package. Prices range from $10-$50. All packages include a 2010 souvenir mug, which is required for consuming beer. Packages also include a souvenir program and various quantities of tokens. Visitors pay four tokens for a full mug of beer or one token for a four-ounce taste. Additional tokens are $1 each.

Jolie on the run in ‘Salt’
A CIA agent played by Angelina Jolie is accused of being a Russian spy in “Salt,” in theaters this weekend. She eludes would-be captors while trying to reunite with her family and find the real traitor.
