DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan (AP) — Intelligence officials say an unmanned aircraft fired four missiles at a house in northwestern Pakistan, killing five suspected militants.

The officials say Sunday’s attack was in Shaktoi, a village in Pakistan’s tribal area on the border of North and South Waziristan.

The officials say the strike also wounded four suspected militants. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to talk to the media.

Taliban militants use the tribal areas as sanctuaries to launch attacks against NATO troops in neighboring Afghanistan and also to strike targets within Pakistan.
