DUNDEE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say a collision involving two commercial trucks near Dundee, Ore., spilled empty wine bottles onto Highway 99W on Tuesday afternoon, temporarily closing the highway.

State police initially said the bottles contained wine but later confirmed witness accounts that they were empty.

Lt. Gregg Hastings says the highway reopened shortly after 7 p.m. after Oregon Department of Transportation crews had a chance to clean up the mess.

Hastings says a commercial truck hauling the wine bottles was on Highway 18 trying to turn onto Highway 99W when it collided with another truck. The bottle truck overturned and its rear trailer broke open.

Hastings says the truck drivers suffered minor injuries. He says the driver of the bottle truck was cited for careless driving.
