FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have signed second-round pick Brandon Spikes, leaving one of their 12 draft choices unsigned.

The team announced Tuesday that it had signed the Florida linebacker, the last of three players it chose in the second round. Spikes was taken with the 62nd pick. The Patriots’ only unsigned draft pick is cornerback Devin McCourty of Rutgers, the 27th overall choice.

Spikes started 39 college games and holds a school record with four interceptions returned for touchdowns.

On Sunday, the Patriots announced the signings of two other second-rounders, tight end Rob Gronkowski of Arizona and defensive lineman Jermaine Cunningham of Florida.

New England rookies reported to training camp on Sunday. Veterans are due on Wednesday with the first full-squad workout set for Thursday.
