Bend developer critically wounded in home shooting

BEND, Ore. (AP) — A Bend developer was shot and critically wounded by his wife, who told police she thought he was an intruder.

KTVZ-TV reports that 60-year-old Stephen Trono was in critical condition Wednesday.

According to police, 39-year-old Angelicque Trono said she was awakened by a noise and sent her husband to investigate. She told police she mistook her husband for an intruder and shot him.

Stephen Trono was taken by ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center-Bend. A handgun was seized at the home.

Stephen Trono in 1980 founded The Trono Company, offering marketing, management and sales consulting services.

KTVZ reports the company since 1987 has been involved real estate developments in Central Oregon and the Portland metro area.
