SYDNEY (AP) — The FIFA team checking Australia’s 2022 World Cup credentials has dined at the prime minister’s residence overlooking the iconic Sydney Opera House, and praised the bi-partisan political support for the bid.

The six-person delegation concluded its inspection Wednesday, with its leader Harold Mayne-Nicholls — president of the Chile Football Federation — saying “we must conclude that this country seems to be prepared in all the aspects to organize the World Cup in 2022.”

Australia followed Japan and South Korea on the inspection itinerary of the FIFA team, which included South Africa 2010 chief Danny Jordaan.

FIFA will select the 2018 and 2022 World Cups hosts in December, with the United States and Qatar also in the running.
