Police release name of man recovered from fish hatchery

Police today released the name of a 49-year-old white male whose body was discovered lying in an empty fish-rearing pond at the Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center on Tuesday morning.

The cause of Robert T. Bunnell’s death remains unknown. An evaluation of Bunnell’s body is ongoing.

An employee discovered the Vancouver man’s body at the trout hatchery, 12208 S.E. Evergreen Highway, at about 6:45 a.m., according to a bulletin issued by the police department.

The department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
