EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Too many students want to live in University of Oregon dorms this fall. Five hundred students are on the residence hall waiting list and the university is working to find other housing options for them.

University officials say they made admission offers to the usual number of students. But students didn’t decline at the usual rate. More students plan to enroll than in the past, and more want to live in the dorms.

The university has posted information on a Facebook group to help students find apartments and roommates in Eugene. And they are partnering with the Courtside Apartments being built in the east campus area.

The university also broke ground recently on a new dorm.
