SEATTLE (AP) — A convicted sex offender enrolled in a Seattle high school has been charged with rape in a campus incident involving a developmentally disabled girl.

Prosecutors charged 18-year-old Jose R. Reyes with third-degree rape in the May 18 incident in a Roosevelt High School girls’ restroom.

Court papers allege Reyes sexually touched a 14-year-old girl despite her requests that he stop. He reportedly had dated the girl for several weeks.

Reyes was arrested and booked into jail May 20.

Investigators say Reyes became a registered sex offender as a minor after pleading guilty to a charge of indecent liberties with force in 2007 in King County.
