A Vancouver woman was listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday morning at the area hospital where she’s being treated for injuries suffered in a Monday crash.
Brittnie Dutton, 20, was traveling on State Route 500 when she tried to avoid a Ford pickup stopped at Falk Road, narrowly missed a third vehicle and laid her bike on its side. She slid into a pedestrian island and was ejected. The motorcycle continued, airborne, crashing into the pickup’s hood.
The wreck was reported at about 5 p.m.
Dutton was cited for speeding and driving without a motorcycle endorsement, according to a news bulletin from the Washington State Patrol. A hospital official at Southwest Washington Medical Center said Dutton, who broke her hip, thumb and a finger, was in satisfactory condition.
Dutton’s Honda motorcycle was retrieved at the scene by her family. Cynthia Graner of Vancouver drove her Ford F-150 from the scene. It suffered $1,000 damage.
There were no other injuries reported.
