UNDERWOOD — A pavement replacement project at Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery will cause temporary closures this month.

The project, which began Tuesday and is scheduled to wrap up June 30, includes new asphalt along the entrance road, hatchery parking and housing areas. The roadway through the Spring Creek State Park windsurfing site will be resurfaced, and the parking area will be leveled with gravel.

Due to safety concerns, Spring Creek State Park and Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery will be closed Friday and Monday.

On June 8-9, the park and hatchery will be partially closed; there will be limited access and parking on those dates. Additional closures will occur near the end of June for the final paving.

Project hours will be limited to 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will not be holiday or weekend work.

For more information, call Columbia Hills State Park, 509-773-1159. For technical project information, call Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery, 509-493-1730.
