Kilcrease's pitching, big offense lead Alabama

ATLANTA (AP) -- Josh Rutledge and Clay Jones homered, Nathan Kilcrease pitched seven strong innings and Alabama beat Elon 11-2 in the first game of the Atlanta Regional on Friday.
The Crimson Tide (38-22) have won nine of 10. Elon (38-23) has lost three of four.
Rain caused a 1-hour, 21-minute rain delay in middle of the seventh.
Kilcrease (7-2) allowed three hits, one run, two walks and struck out five. Over his last 26 1-3 innings -- a span of three starts -- the right-hander is 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA.
Rutledge's ninth homer, a three-run shot, was part of a six-run fourth that made it 8-0 and chased Jimmy Reyes (10-4).
Jones' 16th homer in the sixth made it 9-0.
