SHELTON, Wash. (AP) — A Shelton lumber mill is cutting 130 jobs in July because Mason County Forest Products is selling the mill to another lumber company.

State officials say the mill informed them about the layoffs, as is required by law for layoffs of more than 100 employees.

Employment Security spokeswoman Sheryl Hutchison told The Olympian that Mason County Forest Products is selling its mill to Simpson Lumber. She says some of the people losing their jobs may be offered positions with Simpson.
