NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) — A new exhibit in Newport explores the history of tennis in the city as well as the early years of a social club called the Newport Casino.
The exhibit opened last month at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum and will be up for nearly a year.
Museum CEO Mark Stenning says the exhibit appeals to people interested in tennis as well as those interested in the architecture and history of the Newport Casino.
The casino building was developed in 1880 by noted architect Stanford White and is home to the tennis museum.
