Ashland skateboarder dies from head injuries

ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Ashland police say a 26-year-old man died from head injuries sustained in a skateboarding accident that appears to have lacked witnesses.

According to police, Jesse Brandsen was traveling on Faith Avenue when the accident occurred Monday night.

Emergency responders tried to save Brandsen's life, but he was pronounced dead at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Police say there's no indication Brandsen was hit by a vehicle. A friend was ahead of him on a bicycle and did not see what happened.
