LOS ANGELES (AP) — Fox Soccer Channel has renewed its contract to broadcast Italy’s Serie A for two years through the 2011-12 season.
The deal announced Wednesday was made through MP & Silva, a company that owns and distributes Serie A international media rights. FSC and Fox Soccer Plus will broadcast up to three live matches each weekend for a total of nearly 190 a season, and Fox Sports en Espanol will televise a minimum of three games per weekend.
FSC also owns rights to the English Premier League and the European Champions League. Some Premier League games are televised by ESPN under a deal with Fox.
