MILWAUKEE (AP) — Chicago Cubs radio announcer Ron Santo is feeling ill and will head home instead of calling Thursday’s series finale in Milwaukee.

The 70-year-old Santo, who has diabetes, was hospitalized in Pittsburgh last week after apparently being affected by heat and humidity. A team spokesman says Santo was not taken to the hospital Thursday.

Santo played for the Cubs from 1960-73 before finishing his career with the White Sox in 1974. He became a Cubs broadcaster in 1990.
