BOSTON (AP) — Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona doesn’t think early tests show anything serious with injured right-hander Daisuke Matsuzaka.
Matsuzaka was scratched just before the first pitch of his scheduled start Saturday against Philadelphia and later placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained forearm.
Matsuzaka, who started the season on the DL with a neck strain, is 5-2 with a 4.59 ERA in eight starts this season. He has allowed 41 hits over 49 innings with 37 strikeouts and 23 walks.
