MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Twins second baseman Orlando Hudson has not yet been cleared to come off the disabled list.
Hudson was eligible to be activated Tuesday and previously told manager Ron Gardenhire his injured left wrist would be ready. But Gardenhire said before the game against Colorado that until the switch-hitting Hudson can swing left-handed without discomfort his status will still be day to day.
Hudson took batting practice from the right side and played catch on the field before Tuesday’s game, but Gardenhire said the team wants to make sure Hudson is fully healthy.
Shortstop J.J. Hardy is out with a left wrist injury, too, and Gardenhire said he’s be out for a while.
