ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) — A Coast Guard helicopter crew from Astoria, Ore., packed two rescues into one day.

The crew was training Wednesday with Cannon Beach Fire/Rescue when a female rescue team member slipped from her jet ski into a rip current, which began to carry her toward some rocks. A Coast Guard rescue swimmer dispatched from the helicopter managed to help the woman into a rescue basket, which was then hoisted into the chopper.

A short time later the helicopter crew rescued a 16-year-old girl from a cliff at Cascade Head near Tillamook Bay.
