MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — A medical marijuana group has been denied a business license in Marysville.

The Daily Herald of Everett reports a city hearing examiner Tuesday ruled against Elevated Medical Treatment, which was appealing an earlier denial.

Examiner Ron McConnell said the group was applying for a license as an organization and the state medical marijuana law requires an individual provider. Elevated Medical Treatment argued it has a one-to-one relationship with patients.

Marysville City Attorney Tom Graafstra said medical marijuana dispensaries are illegal in Washington.
