Paul White, a longtime assistant baseball coach and former head coach, has been named to replace Don Freeman as the head baseball coach at Heritage High School.

Freeman was picked to lead Clark College in its return to baseball as a varsity sport. The new Clark baseball program officially begins next school year. Freeman, who was selected to coach the Penguins in February, promised to remain at Heritage through this school season.

Now, the Timberwolves needed a new leader. Heritage athletic coordinator Leta Meyer confirmed it was White, who was the head coach at La Center from 1980-89.

“Heritage has revitalized me,” White said. “I loved working with the program there the last three years (with Freeman). It’s been exciting. When Don took the Clark job, I decided that’s the direction I wanted to go in, to keep things rolling.”
