A Longview woman was transported to an area hospital late Thursday night after her tire blew out on Interstate 5, and she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete wall.

Erin McKee, 20, was transported to St. Johns Medical Center with injuries to her face, shoulder and chest, according to a news bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.

The tire on McKee’s Honda Prelude blew out about two miles south of Woodland, near milepost 20. She struck a concrete bridge barrier and bounced back on to the freeway, partially blocking the right lane when her car finally came to rest.

There were no other injuries. McKee was not cited.
