Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Vancouver woman at gunpoint on Friday, seconds after she allegedly held up a Bi-Mart pharmacy in Orchards with a gun, sped away from police in a green Ford Taurus and crashed into an SUV at Northeast 63rd Street and 58th Avenue, west of Andresen Road.

In the collision, both cars were knocked off the road and the Taurus caught fire, said Sgt. Duncan Hoss with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Detective Unit.

Larae Corzine, 39, was arrested by pursuing officers and handcuffed at the scene.

Injured in the crash, Corzine was taken to Southwest Washington Medical Center, where a deputy was standing by waiting for her release Friday night, to take her to jail, Hoss said.

Hoss said Corzine, who allegedly robbed the store pharmacy at 11912 N.E. Fourth Plain Road for the painkiller OxyContin, also was linked to two other robberies for the opioid narcotic at the same Bi-Mart, on June 14 and April 20.

As a result, she was arrested on suspicion of three counts of first-degree robbery and one count of attempting to elude police, all felony allegations, Hoss said.

The robbery was reported about 1:20 p.m. Friday. Corzine allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded the drug, and an employee gave her some.

Someone saw her leaving the store in the Taurus, Hoss said, and, moments later, sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Eastman spotted the car and followed it, trying to pull it over.

Speeding west on 63rd Street and trying to turn north onto 58th Avenue, Corzine swung too wide and hit an SUV that had stopped at the intersection in a southbound lane, Hoss said.

Officers were right behind the Taurus and arrested her at gunpoint.

The SUV’s driver was treated for injuries at the scene.

The sheriff’s Tactical Detective Unit is continuing the investigation into the three robberies.
