Jorge Lorenzo wins British Grand Prix

SILVERSTONE, England (AP) -- Jorge Lorenzo has won the British Grand Prix to extend his lead at the top of the MotoGP world championship standings.
Spain's Lorenzo started in the pole position and finished in 41 minutes, 34.1 seconds, ahead of Italy's Andrea Dovizioso and Ben Spies of the United States.
Yamaha rider Lorenzo now has 115 points in the overall standings. Dovizioso moves up to second on 78 and Dani Pedrosa is third on 73.
Nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi did not compete on Sunday, after breaking his leg before the Italian Grand Prix earlier this month.
Jules Cluzel of France took his first ever grand prix victory in the 250cc class.
