PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Sunriver man was arrested Sunday after being chased by Oregon State Troopers and then creashing into the front of a patrol cars.

The troopers were looking for a white pickup whose driver was a suspect in a Bend-area beer theft and for leaving a restaurant without paying.

Sgt. Mark Crisp saw the pickup at a gas station and confronted the driver, who ran back to his truck and took off.

Two patrol cars chased the man on Highway 97 and onto a dirt road, where police say he intentionally crashed into the front of one of the patrol cars. The driver then took off on foot and was arrested several hours later and 15 miles away at a truck stop.
