Vancouver artist Karen “K.C.” Madsen and Dene Grigar, associate professor and program director of digital technology and culture at Washington State University Vancouver, will lead a free curatorial walk and talk through downtown Vancouver as part of the Windows into Art initiative. The walk will take place Wednesday and will begin at 7:30 p.m. at North Bank Artists Gallery, 1005 Main St., Vancouver.

Windows into Art is an effort spearheaded by Madsen, Grigar, Drew Parsons and Cameron Suttles, in conjunction with Vancouver’s Downtown Association, the Vancouver USA Regional Tourism Office and downtown landlords. Since the beginning of the month, vacant and occupied storefronts such as the former Columbian building, the former Spanky’s and the Vancouver Ballroom have displayed contemporary art in their windows. The art will be up through July 4. To learn more, go to http://www.windowsintoart.org.

Madsen said she hopes the guided walk will help people get even more out of the art they’re seeing as they walk around downtown.

“Because the exhibition is 24/7, it has a very different feel during the day then at dusk and night, so we hope we can share this aspect with all who attend,” Madsen said.
