COUGAR — Road No. 25 across Elk Pass in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest will be open Friday.

The north-south road connects the the upper North Fork of the Lewis River and the Cowlitz Valley. Forest Service crews have been removing debris left over from the winter.

Road No. 99 leading to Windy Ridge still is closed. Crews hope to have it open by the Fourth of July weekend depending on how fast the snow melts.
