Fireworks now on sale in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Fireworks went on sale Wednesday in Oregon.

While many people expect to have a blast over the Fourth of July, fire authorities are worried about safety.

KGW reports Portland firefighters responded to 45 fires caused by fireworks over the last Fourth of July holiday.

Lt. Allen Oswalt says there are eight patrol cars dedicated to fireworks enforcement this year.
