With a Flanagan Clan Girls Track Club record throw on Friday, Anna Adamko took seventh place in the junior women’s javelin at the USA Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

Adamko threw the javelin 146 feet, 11 inches, on the last of her six throws. She qualified eighth for the finals after three preliminary throws, earning the chance at three more attempts.

A senior-to-be at Columbia River High School, Adamko won Class 3A state titles in the discus and javelin and placed fourth in shot put this spring.

Allison Updike from Tamaqua, Pa., won the javelin with a throw of 167-2. Christine Kirkwood of Othello, who has won the past two Class 2A Washington high school javelin titles, placed third at the junior nationals with a mark of 161-4.
