NC Marines to honor comrade killed in Afghanistan

CHERRY POINT, N.C. (AP) — Marines at a North Carolina air base will honor a 23-year-old Marine from Spokane Valley, Wash. killed last week in Afghanistan.

A memorial service for Cpl. Joshua Dumaw will be held Monday at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

Dumaw was killed Tuesday by an improvised explosive device in Nimruz province, Afghanistan. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 2007 and was a military police officer assigned to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing based at Cherry Point.

The service will be held at the air station chapel.
