ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — A Douglas County sheriff’s officer says a search of part of the Umpqua National Forest with four-wheel-drive vehicles has failed to turn up any sign of an overdue Roseburg family.

The sheriff’s office says Daniel and Melissa Magness and their 4-year-old son Jared were last seen at their Roseburg home on Sunday morning. They were expected back by late afternoon.

Family members say they like to take drives in the mountains. So Sgt. David Marshall says searchers followed up on a tip that they might be in the Hemlock Lake area of the forest. But no vehicle or foot tracks have been found.

Jared Magness reportedly has some medical issues that require medication.

The family is believed to be in a white 1994 Chevy extra cab pickup with a burgundy canopy and silver brush guard.
