Woman faces hindering charge in Ore. deaths

COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) — The wife of a man arrested in the Bandon, Ore., deaths of his mother and her boyfriend has been charged with hindering prosecution.

Jessica Morris, her husband Gabriel Morris and their 4-year-old daughter were taken into custody last week in Virginia.

Gabriel Morris is charged with aggravated murder in the Feb. 8 shooting deaths of his mother, 62-year-old Robin Anstey, and 48-year-old Robert Kennelly Jr.

Jessica Morris had been sought on a material witness warrant. She waived extradition and returned to Oregon’s Coos County.

The woman appeared Monday before Judge Richard Barron in Coos Bay and was charged with hindering. District Attorney Paul Frasier tells KCBY he’s taking the case before a grand jury on Wednesday. Frasier also plans to seek a murder indictment against Gabriel Morris.

Frasier alleges that Jessica Morris helped her husband flee after the shootings.
