OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Chris Gregoire’s budget director is taking a new job at the State Investment Board.

Victor Moore will leave his post as Office of Financial Management director in mid-April, after finishing his work related to the current state legislative session. Moore began that job when Gregoire first took office in 2005.

He will become chief operating officer for the State Investment Board, making $198,500 annually. The board manages more than $70 billion in assets for public pension plans, along with other funds that support state services.

He will be replaced by Marty Brown, a former OFM director who currently serves as Gregoire’s legislative director.

Gregoire praised the work of both Moore and Brown in a statement Tuesday.
