HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) — Washington County sheriff’s officers says detectives have arrested a 34-year-old man suspected of burglarizing a home while the residents were on their honeymoon.

Jamie Pierce was arrested at his Beaverton home Tuesday and booked into jail for investigation of burglary and aggravated theft. Officers say they found property in the house from three other burglaries, including diamond earrings taken from a Tigard home on Valentine’s Day last year. They say Pierce gave the earrings to his wife that night.

Detectives say the honeymooners returned to their house in Garden Home last September to find it had been ransacked and many wedding gifts taken, including a shower head. Officers say they found the shower head installed in Pierce’s home.
