Didier Cuche wins men’s World Cup downhill title

KVITFJELL, Norway (AP) — Didier Cuche of Switzerland has secured his third straight World Cup downhill title after a dominant victory in Saturday’s race.

Cuche finished the race on the 1994 Olympic course in Kvitfjell, Norway, in 1 minute, 45.98 seconds to beat Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway by nearly half a second.

It was the 35-year-old Swiss veteran’s third victory this season in the event, and he clinched the discipline title with one race remaining.
